A fab day at LeAf Academy on 19th April for the inaugural UK Futsal Hampshire FA Youth Festival.
This was an U10 & U12 age group competition & Greenfields YFC entered three age group teams.
U10 entered 2 teams (A & B)
U11 entered the U12 category
U12 entered the U12 category as last minute replacements.
U11 & U12 were in the same group together. U11 lost the first game, drew against the U12 & won the last game against Brockenhurst U12. Overall, the U11 finished 2nd in a group of U12 teams. The U12 didn't fair so well unfortunately, but it was their first outing at Futsal.
The U10 B team made it all the way to the final but ran out of steam and were beaten. Still, a great achievement to reach the final.
Futsal is a brilliant format of the game & we at Greenfields YFC are big supporters of it. It is superb for development of skill & positioning as well as team work.
