Following many dedicated and successful years as Club Chairman, Hugh Craig has stepped down to allow for 'younger blood' to take the club forward. Hugh's achievements as Chairman include the setting up of our annual tournament & the (nearly finished) application for FA Charter Standard. I am sure all the parents & players will join the committee in thanking Hugh for his years of service. Hugh will remain as part of the club committee.
Now, the Club are very pleased to welcome Toby Green as our new chairman as from 1st March 2015.
Toby has set up and managed the U6’s team this season of which his daughter, Amelia, is an enthusiastic member. He has extended the U6’s squad to 18 and recruited 3 other coaches all with FA Level 1 qualifications which means we should be able to run 2 U7’s teams next season.
We had not had an U6’s side for many years and Toby’s drive and initiative has delivered a crucial development for the Club’s future recruitment at all ages.
Although only on the Committee for a season Toby has been instrumental in other developments including establishing the news letter and consulting parents on coaching feedback (the results of which were very positive) and a reorganisation of training fees.
He also has the advantage of youth (aged 33) and wide experience of ‘life’ first in the army and now in business.
The Committee were unanimous in considering him ideal for the job and hope they can look forward to serving under his enthusiastic chairmanship for a considerable time.
